New Steering rack installed in April 2019. Vehicle is at mechanic at the moment as it is smoking badly from worn seals, hence oil is going onto the engine. We believe that the valve systems have perished and a new head gasket need to be fitted. Possibly new O-rings to be fitted. Windscreen washer bottle is leaking. The mechanic has given us an estimate of R25 000 to fix, but that includes R10 000 labour. This amount could be cheaper or more expensive depending on mechanic and if there are any other faults found on the car. I CANNOT guarantee this is the only problem as the mechanic has not started working on the car, but we believe this is the problem (both the mechanic and ourselves).
